How to Bet on Sport

Sports betting means choosing what you think will happen in a match and putting money on it. On betPawa, you can bet from UGX 1 on thousands of matches every week.

How to Place a Bet

  1. Find a match. Browse by sport, competition or date, or use search.

  2. Tap the odds for the result you want. Your pick goes straight into your betslip.

  3. Add more picks if you want a multibet. Each pick is called a leg.

  4. Enter your stake.

  5. Check the odds and your possible win, then place your bet.

How Do Odds Work?

Odds show how much you get back for every UGX 1 you bet, including your stake. For example:

If you bet UGX 1,000 on Arsenal at 2.00 and they win, you get UGX 2,000 back. That's your UGX 1,000 stake plus UGX 1,000 in winnings. Higher odds mean a bigger win, but a less likely result.

What Happens if the Odds Change?

Odds can change quickly, especially during live matches, for example after a goal or a red card.

If the odds change while you're placing a bet, we show you the new odds and ask you to confirm. Your bet isn't placed until you do.

To skip this step, tick Accept odds change on your betslip, just above your stake. We'll place your bet at the latest odds, whether they've gone up or down.

Once your bet is placed, your odds are locked and won't change.

Popular Markets Explained

These are some of the most popular markets. You'll find all of them explained on our Rules page.

A bet on the full-time result: 1 is a home win, X is a draw and 2 is an away win.

A bet on the total goals scored in the match. Pick Over 2.5 if you think there will be 3 or more goals, or Under 2.5 if you think there will be 2 or fewer goals.

One bet that covers two of the three results: 1X (home win or draw), 12 (home or away win) or X2 (draw or away win).

A ready-made bundle of picks from one match, like Arsenal to win and both teams to score. Every pick has to win, and the whole combo counts as one leg on your betslip. Find out more about Match Combos.

Match result bets that pay out as a win as soon as your team goes one goal ahead (1UP) or two goals ahead (2UP), whatever the final result. Find out more about 1X2 1UP and 1X2 2UP.

A bet on whether both teams will score. Pick Yes if you think both teams will score at least once, or No if you think at least one of them won't.

A bet on the exact score at the end of normal time (90 minutes plus injury time). Extra time doesn't count.

A bet on a player to score at least once during normal time (90 minutes plus injury time).
